Welcome, all scouts and parents, leaders and committee people to the newly created blog for Cub Scout Pack 101. On this blog, I will post a regular calendar of events, and encourage you to communicate back and forth to me and other members of Pack 101 with any questions you might have. I have created the blog as an open forum, and as long as I am not having to fight through mountains of spam, I will keep it that way.
For All Returning Scouts: November is the month that we re-charter our organization. Your dues from last year must be paid in full this month, or you will not be allowed registered for this year. Please see your den leader or contact me if you need to know how much you owe (if anything) in back dues. It is important that this get settled up this week!
There are several key events coming up: November 27th: 7 pm, UM Church. Pack Meeting, and popcorn money turn-in will happen then. It is imperative that you attend this meeting, and turn in your popcorn sales. Also, we will award any advancements, and will hand out the pinewood derby car kits that evening.
Next, December 1st: 12:30 meet at the Save-A-Lot parking lot for the Christmas Parade. Scouts need to dress warmly, but also wear their uniforms. The younger scouts will ride on the float. Any scouts who wish to throw candy must bring their own bags of individually wrapped candies.
Your individual dens will have a meeting during the first week of December, but on Thursday, December 13th, we will be having our annual Christmas Carolling event. We will meet up at the church at approximately 5 pm, and then go to five different assisted living centers in town. When we finish, we will meet back at the church, have cookies and hot cocoa, and give out the prizes and cash awards for the popcorn sales.
Then, we are off until January, which will be our Pinewood Derby Race! More to come on that in the next few weeks.
