The Blue And Gold Banquet

This Saturday, February 23rd, at 5pm, we will host our annual Blue and Gold Banquet. This is the event at which Webelos II scouts who are ready to cross over to the Boy Scouts are recognized, and officially become Boy Scouts.

We would like all cub scouts, their families, in-laws and outlaws, to attend. The banquet is a potluck, with the Cub Scouts providing the main dish, (chicken tenders), drinks, and a beautiful cake. You need to bring a dish to share with us.

The event will begin at 5pm and will be held at the Metropolis Community Center, on the square in Metropolis. Dinner will begin at approximately 6pm, and the ceremony will begin at approximately 8 pm.

There will be door prizes for some lucky folks, and table favors for each of the scouts. Please join us for a wonderful evening to celebrate one of the most important nights with our cub scouts.

Pictures From Valarie

Valarie sent me some pictures the other day, which included some photos of her Den from way back in October. So, I put this slideshow together. I hope you like it. Also, please remember that the Blue and Gold Banquet is coming up soon. We'll see you there!

The Blue and Gold Banquet

The next big event on our calendar is the Blue and Gold Banquet. During the Blue and Gold Banquet, any Webelos II scouts that are ready to become boy scouts bridge over to the scouts. We have a wonderful potluck banquet every year.

This year, we will be holding the Blue and Gold Banquet at the Metropolis Community Center, on the square in Metropolis, on February 23rd. We will open the doors at approximately 5 pm. Dinner will begin at approximately 6 pm. Pack 101 will provide the main course, drinks, and cake. You need to bring a side dish
for our potluck table which would feed you and any folks you bring with you.

Each of the Dens are working on their table decorations, and the theme of this year's Blue and Gold is the Chinese New Year. We will have door prizes for several lucky folks!

This is perhaps the most important event in a cub scout's career. Please invite everyone in your family to join us. Please let your Den leader know how many people you expect to attend.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

**Soon** "Official" pictures of each Den. Also, look for the upcoming Metropolis Planet, because your scout might be pictured there!
