The Raingutter Regatta...And Our Summer Schedule

In May, we had a great turn-out for the Raingutter Regatta, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I don’t have pictures yet, but as soon as I do, I will post them on the website, at

THIS SUMMER, we have planned several fun events. Please mark your calendar today for them.
-----------------------------------------------

Cub Scout Summer Camp

Cub Scout Day Camp is coming June 12th and 13th, 4pm-8:30pm and June 14th 9:30am-2:30pm at Bob Noble Park in Paducah. For more info contact Directors Doug Abertnathy at 270-554-5364 and Glenn Baird at 270-575-9446 or Trey Smith our local scouting professional 270-564-4690. The Council may be able to help pay the fee for camp if you need help with that.
------------------------------------------------

The Annual Cubmobile Race

On June 21st, on 9th Street between Catherine and Girard, at 10 am, we will host our annual Cubmobile race. This is like a soapbox derby race, with the boys driving go-kart sized gravity racers downhill. Boys should wear blue jeans (NO SHORTS), and should wear bike pads and helmets for safety. Cold drinks will be provided and prizes will be awarded. Even if you haven’t had an opportunity to attend many events lately, please attend the summer events. They are a blast!

The Supertrip

In years past, we have taken Pack 101 to the St. Louis Zoo, and to Mammoth Cave. This year, we have decided to stay closer to home, to spend less time and money driving, and more time and money doing fun activities with the kids. Mark your calendar NOW for our trip on July 12th to Land Between The Lakes. We will have a full day which will include a petting zoo, a planetarium, bison farm, miniature golf, and if the weather holds, we will all go to the Calvert City Drive-In in the evening. This year, we will require that all scouts are accompanied by one parent or guardian, and that each family that goes must be responsible for driving to and from our destinations. Pack 101 will pay entrance fees for any events we plan, for one scout and one adult per family. We encourage you to bring the whole family; however, you would be responsible for any of the tickets or fees for the rest of your family. We will supply lunch and dinner for the scouts. We will send an RSVP with a specific itinerary and lunch and dinner choices later this month.
-----------------------------------------------

The Pool Party

As always, we will reserve the Metropolis City Pool for our end of summer pool party. This year, the pool party will be held on August 2nd, starting at approximately 6pm. We will have the pool until 9pm. Everyone in the family is invited, and we encourage you to invite your son’s friends, too! We will grill out hamburgers and hot dogs, and supply everything for dinner. You just need to show up with your swim suit and beach towel!

THANK YOU!

Thanks to all the volunteer leaders for making this year a successful year in scouting. I’d like to recognize Balinda Hodges, Leslea Bates, Valarie Sronce, and Matt Alsip for their work. Also, Debbie Stamme and Robbie Adams for their support. Last but not least, to Joe Ogle, for his effort and experience in scouting to help guide us. We never forget that the MOST IMPORTANT link in our Pack: YOU, the parents. We depend on the value you place on scouting
in your sons’ lives, and the time you are willing to give to us, so that we can provide a quality program for the boys. All of the leaders of Pack 101 appreciate your commitment to scouting, and pledge to continue to work to make our Pack the best it can be! THANK YOU!!!

Roger
